Re-Animate

These films look at taking moments of Walsh Street House and using methods of assemblage to start to re-project the narrative of site. The video of the silvery tray re-animates the narrative around the object. Can these become modes of referencing cite through immersive experiential projection?

The video to the left is taken of the large obscured glass windows within the courtyard at Walsh Street House. There is dancing dappled light and shadow that occurs on the obscured glass as the trees behind sway in the wind. I have used material that has the same quality to re-project this video back onto.

The Silver Tray

The silver tray is never seen within Walsh Street however from my visit to this site there is a narrative around this object. When the Boyd Family lived at Walsh Street they would entertain guests within their home offering them drinks on a silver tray. The house was very much made for entertaining. For this video I re-created a dinner party within my own home using the silvery tray as a reference to this moment that occurred around the object. The video shows us picking up drinks, placing them down which invokes a sense of duration. I then projected this video back onto the tray to re-animate the active that surrounds the object.
